Ziehl-Abegg sees sales increase 12%

Production at Ziehl-Abegg is said to be in full swing, with energy-saving fans being in particularly high demand

GERMANY: Fan and motor manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg has posted a 12% increase in sales to €268m in the first six months of the year.

Peter Fenkl, chairman of the executive board of Ziehl Abegg SE, said: “Customers are taking to our energy-saving products extremely well in every market.”

The result comes at a time of expansion and investment for the Künzelsau-based company. A total of €28m will be invested in buildings and modern machinery. The first machines are to be moved the few kilometres away to the production plant in the Hohenlohe Industrial Park by the end of the year. Ziehl-Abegg is expanding its Kupferzell plant in the Industrial Park which is located directly on the A6 European main traffic artery. This move is designed to bring improvements in terms of logistics and delivery times.

The exceptional volume of orders means that, despite improvements in production, a significant increase in the number of employees will be needed.
