Webinars will focus on flammable refrigerants
4th September 2020USA: The The Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is to hold a series of five weekly seminars on various aspects of flammable refrigerant research.
To date, the research has informed technical updates to safety standards that will enable compliance with global regulations that phase down the use of high-GWP refrigerants.
This virtual forum will build on material covered in the Flammable Refrigerant Research and Planning Conference held in October 2018, examining research in collaboration with Department of Energy, California Air Resources Board, ASHRAE, AHRI, and others.
The free sessions will feature panel discussions and presentations from industry experts, including principal investigators on flammable refrigerant research projects.
The full webinar programme is:
Webinar 1: Air Conditioning Applications. Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
AHRI vice president of regulatory affairs Helen Walter-Terrinoni will lead a panel of experts to discuss leak and ignition testing of low-GWP refrigerants in air conditioning equipment under whole room scale conditions, as well as refrigerant leak characteristics in real-life applications.
Webinar 2: Commercial Refrigeration Applications. Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
Webinar 3: Understanding Refrigerant Sensors Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
Webinar 4: Predictive Tools for Refrigerant Behaviours Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
Webinar 5: Refrigerant Ignition in Open Flame/Hot Surfaces: Has Anything Fundamentally Changed? Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
Registration for the first webinar on September 23 is now available here.
