Two more deaths in Spanish LD outbreak
18th September 2014SPAIN: The legionnaires disease outbreak in Sabadell, near Barcelona, has claimed two more lives.
The two who died today, aged 86 and 84, bring the death toll to four since the outbreak was first discovered. In addition, five new cases were notified today bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 28. The latest reported cases are five men between 48 and 86 years old.
In a statement, the Public Health Agency of Catalonia (ASPCAT) said it could not rule the possibility of more cases in the coming days as the incubation period of the disease is 10 days.
In the latest reported cases the symptoms have started between 12 and 16 September.
