Tefcold acquires Eurofred’s Horeca business

DENMARK/SPAIN: The Tefcold Group has acquired Barcelona-based Horeca Global Solutions, a distributor of refrigeration, cooking and ice cream making equipment for the hospitality sector in Spain and Portugal.

Horeca Global Solutions was established as a subsidiary of the Eurofred Group in 2022. Eurofred maintains that the sale enables it to focus its efforts on its air conditioning, refrigeration and services business units.

“It is clear to us that the business models in the air-condition market and the commercial cooling industry are so different, that it will be better for Horeca Global Solutions to have a new and more specialised owner,” explained Eurofred CEO Ferran Baldirà.

“This agreement responds to the deployment of our strategic plan and will allow us to focus attention on our core business of thermal comfort and cooling, further strengthening our position in the market and preparing us for even greater growth and operational excellence,” he added.

The relationship between Tefcold and Horeca Global Solutions began in 2006 with the development by Tefcold of its own Horeca Global Solutions product brand.

“Including Horeca Global Solutions in Tefcold Group will strengthen the holding and help us offer better, faster and more competitive customer service ,” said Jesper Kirkeby Hansen, CEO of Tefcold. “We have known Horeca Global Solutions for years and it is a great company with a formidable team, so this agreement is an important step forward in our growth strategy.”

Horeca Global Solutions has 21 employees, delivering products from two warehouses close to Barcelona and one in the Canary Islands.

Horeca Global Solutions will continue to have the same management and staff as today but will change its name to Tefcold and will be working out of new offices in Barcelona.

Tefcold is headquartered in Viborg, Denmark and has 170 employees in 10 countries.
