ITALY: Swedish manufacturer Swegon has officially opened a new €2m research and development lab at its Italian chiller and heat pump factory near Venice.
The 60,000m² factory in Cantarana di Cona is dedicated to the development and manufacture of Swegon’s Bluebox brand products.
The new modular lab will allow performance testing of single units or two units simultaneously in different environmental conditions. This will enable testing of multifunctional units intended for the simultaneous production of heating and cooling to European and International standards.

It offers a total testing capacity of up to 2MW on a wide range of operating ambient temperature from -15ºC to + 55ºC. It is also designed for testing products with the latest generation of A2L refrigerants.
Testing can be witnessed from a new control room at the lab or from an office using a remote monitoring system and video streaming.
The grand opening took place last week attended by Swegon’s worldwide sales force and guest speakers Arnoud Lacourt from EUROVENT and Filippo Busato from the Italian association AICARR.
