The Samp manufacturing plant in in Concorezzo, Italy

SWEDEN/ITALY: Gothenburg-based HVAC manufacturer Swegon has acquired the Italian air handling unit manufacturer Samp SpA.

Samp, founded in 1969, has 90 employees, with its head office and production in Concorezzo outside Milan, in Italy.

Announcing the deal, Swegon CEO Andreas Örje Wellstam said that he saw a growing demand for specialised air handling solutions, seeing Samp as a perfect fit for growing its modular AHU business.

“The acquisition of Samp does not only significantly strengthen our position in the Italian market, but it also provides us with a solid manufacturing base of modular AHUs for southern Europe,” he said.

Swegon has subsidiaries and distributors all over the world and 19 production plants in Europe, North America, and India. The company employs 3,000 people and in 2021 had a turnover of SEK5.8bn (€540m).
