Sustainable cooling is key to climate target
5th March 2020BELGIUM: The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) says that sustainable cooling can help deliver on the European Climate Law to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The European Commission’s European Climate Law, which proposes a legally binding target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, has been welcomed by EPEE but urges an integrated approach to cooling and heating.
“The EU and its member states should use this opportunity to create a legislative environment that promotes an integrated heating and cooling approach, maximising the benefits of cooling whilst creating the smallest footprint in terms of GHG emissions and electrical peak demand,” EPEE says.
