Parlanti to become MD at Bitzer Italia

Martin Büchsel (left) will take over the chief sales and marketing officer role from Gianni Parlanti (right) on April 1

GERMANY: Bitzer has appointed a new chief sales and marketing officer, after Gianni Parlanti’s decision to return to his home country as managing director of Bitzer Italia.

The move, at Parlanti’s own request, comes after six year in the role and a career spanning 15 years at the German compressor manufacturer.

From April 1, he will be replaced as chief sales and marketing officer by Martin Büchsel, the vice-president sales and marketing at EagleBurgmann, the German industrial sealing technology company. Büchsel will also become a member of Bitzer’s executive board.

Martin Büchsel has held leading positions at various companies belonging to the Freudenberg Group (EagleBurgmann’s owner) in Germany, France and the USA since 2003. He started to work for EagleBurgmann Germany in 2012. He studied business administration and mechanical engineering.

Bitzer’s COO, Christian Wehrle, described Martin Büchsel as “the ideal successor” who would guarantee the continuity of the business. “Mr Büchsel can rely on the full support of Mr Parlanti during the transition period,” he said.

“With 30 years of experience in the industry, Gianni Parlanti is a true refrigeration and air conditioning expert who has brought Bitzer a great step forward – especially when looking at the further diversification of the Bitzer Group,”  Wehrle said. “We are all very pleased that he will remain with the company in his new role as managing director of Bitzer Italia and Green Point Servizi Industriali.”

Gianni Parlanti succeeds Andrea Zocche who retired at the end of last year. Parlanti joined Bitzer in 2006 as MD of Bitzer Asia. He moved to Germany, initially as director of business development in 2014. Prior to joining Bitzer, he spent three years at J&E Hall as international sales and marketing director.
