Modine to build data centre cooling factory in India
13th January 2025USA/INDIA: Modine is to open a new Airedale by Modine facility in Chennai, India, in mid-2025 to meet increased demand for mission-critical cooling solutions.
In addition to manufacturing data centre cooling equipment, it will also produce cooling modules for stationary power generation equipment.
It will be the first Airedale by Modine facility in India, and follows the recent opening of new Airedale by Modine manufacturing facilities in Calgary, Canada, and Bradford, UK, in response to data center industry demand.
“This strategic expansion of two Modine businesses in India is an example of how we are driving growth by capturing the mega-trends connected to high-performance computing and AI,” said president and CEO Neil D Brinker.
With data centre investment in India accelerating in recent years and a growing economy, Modine insists that the availability of skilled labour and local investment in enhanced connectivity to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East make India an increasingly attractive market. Several data centre hyperscale and colocation companies have already invested in India.
