Modine invests in liquid immersion cooling
3rd January 2024USA: Thermal management company Modine has purchased the intellectual property and other specific assets of TMGcore, a Texas-based specialist in liquid immersion cooling technology for data centres.
The investment adds single- and two-phase immersion cooling technologies to Modine’s business, which already includes data centre cooling manufacturer Airedale.
Modine insists that the investment will enable it to capture a share in the rapidly developing data centre liquid cooling market, which analysts forecast will reach $7.8bn by 2028.
Founded in 2018, TMGcore has developed a suite of products that includes both hardware and software solutions.
“This investment strengthens Modine’s position in the rapidly growing data centre market, providing our customers with advanced solutions to support high-density, accelerated computing applications, such as generative artificial intelligence, 5G and machine learning,” said Modine president and CEO Neil Brinker.
“Modine’s investment in liquid immersion cooling technology expands the innovative solutions our Airedale brand can offer throughout the thermal chain, allowing us to cover air, liquid and hybrid systems,” said Modine Climate Solutions president Eric McGinnis.
