Italian authorities meet to control F-gases
17th November 2024ITALY: The Italian police, government authorities and the Italian customs agency are to cooperate on the control of F-gases.
The move follows the announcement of the results of this year’s campaign by Carabinieri Forestry and Parks Protection Command which saw 170 checks, 19 seizures of illegal refrigerant and 38 administrative sanctions.
The campaign data were presented during a meeting at Italy’s Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, in which it was decided to launch the Permanent Coordination Table on controls on fluorinated gases, in line with the objectives of the new European F-gas Regulation 2024/573.
The round table will see the participation of all the relevant bodies involved in control activities. In addition to the representatives of the MASE (General Directorate for Product and Consumption Sustainability of the Sustainable Development Department), the Carabinieri Forestry and Parks Command, the Carabinieri Environmental Protection and Energy Security Command, and the Customs Agency will also be part of it.
The new agreement will serve to exchange information and best practicess, plan joint actions to control and combat illegal activities, and increase the effectiveness of surveillance along the entire supply chain.
