India investigates R134a dumping allegations
5th October 2024INDIA: The Indian government has opened an anti-dumping investigation into allegations that Chinese R134a refrigerant is being dumped on the Indian market at cheap prices.
The move follows an appeal by Indian refrigerant manufacturer SRF to the Directorate General of Trade Remedies.
SRF, the sole manufacturer of R134a in India, alleges “material injury” due to dumped imports of the refrigerant and has requested the imposition of anti-dumping duties on the Chinese imports.
The Indian government previously imposed anti-dumping duties on Chinese R32, R410A and R407C in 2021 after representations from SRF.
