Heat pump blamed for fatal explosion
21st August 2024POLAND: A domestic heat pump explosion has been blamed for the deaths of two people in Chrząstowice, south-west Poland.
Local press reports say a 30-year-old engineer, who was servicing the unit, and the 45-year-old property owner died on the spot. They are said to have suffered multiple injuries to the chest, head, arms and legs. A third individual was injured and taken to hospital.
The district prosecutor’s office in Opole has begun an investigation into the tragedy. A gas leak has been ruled out as there is no gas connected to the property.
