Green Globes for Mitsubishi’s US hq
27th December 2014USA: Mitsubishi Electric’s own VRF air conditioning is behind the company’s success in achieving two Green Globes for its US headquarters in Suwanee, Georgia.
Green Globes is an online green building rating and certification tool that is used primarily in Canada and the USA. The system was developed by ECD Energy and Environment Canada, and is similar to the LEED and BREEAM certificates. Up to four Green Globes can be awarded to buildings. Two Green Globes is reserved for buildings that “demonstrate excellent progress in achieving eco-efficiency results through current best practices in energy and environmental design.”
Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc’s Cooling & Heating Division hq cost $30m and was opened in 2013. In addition to sales and administrative offices, the building also includes an engineering centre, training facilities and warehouse
