Epta buys Polish distributor

POLAND: The commercial refrigeration group Epta SpA has consolidated its presence in Central Europe with the acquisition of its Polish distributor Libre.

Based in Krakow, Libre is the exclusive distributor of Epta Group refrigeration equipment in Poland. The company started its activity in 2011, after more than 20 years of cooperation with Epta in the Scandinavian, Baltic and Central European countries.

Since 2011 Libre has operated exclusively in the Polish market, offering all Epta brands – Costan, Bonnet Neve, Euro’Cryor, Misa, IARP and George Barker.

Epta says the acquisition is in line with the Group’s strategy to guarantee a direct presence in countries with a high growth potential. Thanks to the acquisition of Libre, the Group will be now be able to offer turnkey solutions, directly offering control of  planning, system engineering, installation and after-sales service.

“This acquisition confirms our interest in Central and Eastern Europe, where we are already present with a well known technical and commercial premises in Budapest, Hungary, allowing us to pursue solid development in this area,” commented Marco Nocivelli, Epta’s chairman and CEO. “Poland is a very attractive market with great development opportunities both for the Epta Group as well as for international retailers already present in the country. The retailing system is already well established and we believe that medium and independent retailers will have opportunities in the future as well.”
