DiversiTech acquires sealant firm Cliplight

Diversitech-logoUSA: HVACR parts manufacturer DiversiTech has acquired Cliplight, the Canadian producer of system sealants and leak detection equipment. 

The Toronto-based manufacturer of the Super Seal brand of air conditioning and refrigeration sealants and a market leader in several other sectors, Cliplight adds a number of well-known brands to the DiversiTech portfolio, including lighting tools and air purification products.   

DiversiTech sees advantages in marrying its own large customer base, warehousing and distributing operations with Cliplight’s r&d capabilities and technical support. 

“This is a perfect marriage between two companies with complementary products and services that can be leveraged to the greater benefit of our HVAC wholesaler customers and contractors,” said DiversiTech chief sales and marketing officer Bud Sjogren.

Founded in 1976, Cliplight invented the first residential and commercial HVACR sealant, Super Seal, in 2003.  Super Seal, which continues to be made in the USA, is the industry’s most widely recognised sealant brand with nearly 2 million sealant applications worldwide for appliance, residential, and commercial AC and refrigeration systems. 

In addition to acquiring the Super Seal family of brands, other product lines coming to DiversiTech include: work lights, leak detection inspection lights, air ozone machines, air conditioning tools and battery chargers. Combined, DiversiTech is acquiring more than 450 product lines.   

Following a management buy-out in May last year, the purchase of Cliplight continues DiversiTech’s history of growth through acquisition of industry-recognised brand names and assets.
