Daikin pledges $100m for startup investments
3rd November 2019JAPAN: Air conditioning manufacturer Daikin has set aside US$100m for investments in startup companies worldwide over the next five years.
In addition, Daikin says it will establish a Technology and Innovation Centre corporate venture capital (CVC) office to promote collaboration with startup companies.
Daikin is already working in collaboration with local startup companies worldwide, including Silicon Valley in the United States and Shenzhen in China. In Japan, the company’s activities include an industry-academia co-creation agreement concluded with the University of Tokyo.
