Daikin opens flagship store in Austria

AUSTRIA: Daikin has opened its first flagship air conditioning and heat pump store in Central Europe.

The 220m² store, located in Shopping City Süd, presents the range of Daikin products in room settings. Located in Vösendorf and Wiener Neudorf, south of Vienna, Shopping City Süd is Austria’s largest shopping mall with over 300 stores.

“Our new flagship store concept captures all relevant climate areas in a real apartment or a real house – from the basement to the bathroom and living room to the bedroom,” said Daikin Central Europe MD Carl Lievens.

“In the future, interested parties will be able to experience authentically how a Daikin air conditioning or heating appliance looks in their own home and harmoniously blends into their personal living space thanks to discreet and modern design solutions.”

The new flagship store is said to be a response to the growing need for professional air conditioning in Austrian homes. The portfolio in the flagship store includes split and multi-split air conditioning systems, heat pumps and air purifiers.

“The private market for air conditioners in Austria is growing rapidly and more and more people in Austria are recognising the advantages of professional air conditioning units in their own four walls,” commented Daikin Austria general sales manager Klaus Koller. “We are experiencing that many interested parties in providing information on the purchase of air conditioning units are still overwhelmed by technical terms and at first glance quite complex-seeming solutions and assume that this requires a high level of investment and costly conversion work. We would like to eliminate these misunderstandings in our new store.”

Customers will be able to purchase a complete package of equipment and services from the store. Daikin will manage the installation by a certified Daikin partner as well as the delivery of the equipment.

“Our goal is a maximum of ten working days between the store visit and the air conditioning unit that has been completely assembled and installed by our partners,” said Klaus Koller.

“We have high expectations for our new store concept. Together with our qualified Daikin partners we want to revive and design the Austrian climate technology private market. Austria is a very important market for Daikin,” Carl Lievens added.
