Daikin HT heat pump wins energy award
31st December 2023JAPAN: An industrial high-temperature water-output heat pump chiller designed by Daikin has won an award at Japan’s Energy Conservation Awards.
The Jizai Heat has a heating capacity of 30kW and employs a dual refrigerant circuit to produce high-temperature hot water at up to 80°C.
It is said to be suitable for use in various production processes that require high-temperature water, such as the drying process of painting equipment in factories, the heating of cleaning fluids, and concentrated distillation in chemical and pharmaceutical factories.
The unit received the Energy Conservation Centre Chairman’s Award at Japan’s Energy Conservation Awards 2023, which recognises domestic businesses that promote excellent energy conservation activities and contributes to the spread of energy conservation awareness.
A Jizai Heat units was used by Daikin on the paint line at its Rinkai air conditioning plant, where it is said to have reduced annual CO2 emissions by approximately 86% and running costs by approximately 82%.
The dual refrigerant circuit reduces the discharge gas temperature from the compressor and obviates the risk of carbonisation of the refrigeration oil and equipment failure.
The adoption of a plate heat exchanger ensures a stable supply of high-temperature water at a large flow rate without increasing the capacity of the hot water pump.
