Daikin Applied acquires US AHU manufacturer

USA: Daikin Applied has acquired Alliance Air Products, a San Diego-based custom air-handling equipment manufacturer.

Established in 2004 as a custom retrofit air handler manufacturer, Alliance Air has since grown into all areas of custom HVACR manufacturing with over 700 employees and 230,000ft2 of manufacturing space.

Announcing the acquisition, Daikin said: “Engineers, and building owners and operators now have a single supplier for end-to-end HVAC solutions, enhancing time to delivery and productivity while lowering lifecycle costs.

In particular, it says the combined capabilities of Daikin and Alliance Air will address requirements of the booming data centre industry with chiller-to-computer room air-handler systems.

“Alliance Air has differentiated itself for its manufacturing acumen, creative designs, and nimble work and delivery,” said Daikin Applied CEO Jeff Drees. “While this acquisition does, indeed, uniquely diversify and strengthen our portfolio, the true advantage is to our customers, especially those with hyper-scale and colocation data centres.”

Alliance Air offers comprehensive customer support, from engineering assistance to design, testing and field services. In addition to data centre cooling, the merged operations will serve an array of applications that require custom designs, such as hospitals, manufacturing facilities and labs.
