Cylinder explosion destroys car

SPAIN: Early reports suggest a car destroyed on a street in Malaga last week was caused by an exploding refrigerant cylinder.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene of a seriously damaged car on Malaga’s Calle Caleta de Vélez on Friday afternoon (July 12).

No injuries were reported and, while the car was virtually destroyed, there appeared to be little damage to nearby property.

Temperatures at the time in the popular tourist destination were in excess of 40ºC.
