Customs block quota-busting F-gas shipment
18th July 2024ITALY: An unnamed “specialised” company from the Piedmont region of northwest Italy faces a fine of up to €150,000 for exceeding its F-gas import quota.
During verification of imported goods at the port of Genoa-Pra’, officials of Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency discovered anomalies in the importation of an 18 tonne isotank of R32 refrigerant from China bound for a company in the Piedmont region. It was found that the shipment exceeded the Piedmont company’s quota under the European F-gas regulation 573/2024.
