Clivet plans new heat pump plant

ITALY: Clivet is to build a new 30,000m2 domestic heat pump factory near its current manufacturing facility in Villapaiera, Feltre.

Reports from Italy say that the company will lay a foundation stone for the new factory next month. When finished, it is expected to employ 200-300 people.

The expansion is said to have been prompted by a doubling in demand for heat pumps. Clivet CEO Stefano Bellò said: “The construction of the new production unit plays an important role in our growth plan on international markets to bring our technology and expertise to the service of sustainable comfort throughout Europe and the world.

“It will allow us to increase the production of heat pumps to meet the growing demands of the markets, the changing needs of customers and new regulations, while respecting the environment and optimising energy consumption in such a difficult economic moment.”

Majority-owned by Chinese manufacturer Midea since 2016, Clivet will also open new offices in France next month to add to its worldwide network.
