Carrefour acquires 36 Eroski hypermarkets

Eroski-logoSPAIN: The French supermarket chain Carrefour Group is to acquire 36 Eroski compact hypermarkets, eight shopping malls and 22 petrol stations adjacent to the stores.

Founded in 1969, Eroski is a Spanish supermarket chain with nearly 1,000 outlets.

The €205m acquisition will enable Carrefour, which has had a presence in Spain since 1973, to gain a presence in 27 new cities while strengthening its position in the food segment.
