BDR Thermea buys stake in GI Holding

NETHERLANDS/ITALY: BDR Thermea has strengthened its strategic partnership with GI Holding following the acquisition of a 25% stake in the Italian HVAC manufacturer.

Headquartered in Latisana, Italy, GI Holding manufactures and markets a range of heat pumps, liquid chillers, air handling units, rooftop-packaged units and fan coil units under the Clint, KTK Klimatechnik and Novair brands. The company also offers tailor-made cooling systems for server rooms and IT cooling applications under the Montair brand.

Based in Apeldoorn, heating equipment manufacturer BDR Thermea owns the Baxi, De Dietrich, Remeha, Brötje, Chappée and Baymak brands. The company has been selling GI Holding’s medium- to high-capacity heat pumps under the Baxi brand in Italy, Spain and Portugal, since 2020.

Under the strategic partnership, BDR Thermea will expand its offering of commercial, industrial and multi-dwelling residential heating and cooling solutions. The companies will also collaborate in R&D.

GI Holding has 300 employees and manufacturing plants in Italy and Hungary. In the partnership, GI Holding and its brands will continue to operate under their existing names.
