Aldi equips 300th CO2 store
23rd September 2014GERMANY: In a move away from HFCs, discount supermarket group Aldi Süd has equipped its 300th store with CO2 refrigeration.
Aldi Süd has been reducing its reliance on F-gases since 2010. 80% of cabinets are already operating with propane and a further €15m investment will ensure that more than 1,830 stores will be operating with a climate-friendly refrigerant by the end of next year.
The use of intelligent control technology has already slashed energy consumption by around 50%.
