Aira heat pumps launch in Italy

SWEDEN/ITALY: Swedish heat pump company Aira has now officially launched in Italy, following its acquisition of the Italian contractors T5 Group earlier this year.

A direct-to-consumer company offering heat pumps on a monthly subscription, Aira will initially launch in in six regions in Italy – Lombardy, Piedmont, Lazio, Marche, Abruzzo and Umbria.

Having secured local specialists and the necessary Italian market expertise from its purchase of T5, Aira Italy is backed by a team of 150 people, consisting of clean energy experts, technicians, and commercial staff.

The company says it plans to hire 4000 employees over the next decade and to establish Aira Academies across Italy for training its clean energy experts.

Aira claims its partnership with Italian energy company Dolomiti Energia will provide customers with “the greenest and cheapest” electricity tariff. This will include a variable price tariff and a 10% discount on Italy’s standard electricity tariff.

Collaborations are said to have been established with a number of Italian technical institutes, including Politecnico di Milano, to build a training programme.

“Italy is a crucial market to decarbonise, being one of Europe’s most populated countries, and with a heat pump penetration rate of only 6%,” observed Aira Group CEO Martin Lewerth.

“We are excited to introduce Aira’s innovative home energy solution in Italy and we are confident that our offering and value proposition, which includes substantial consumer cost savings, no need for lifestyle changes, and a zero upfront payment model, will be well-received.”
