A-Gas keeps train company on track
7th December 2023SINGAPORE: A-Gas has recently recovered around 337kg of R407C refrigerant from the air conditioning and ventilation systems of decommissioned trains in Singapore.
The refrigerant recovered, equalling 597 tonnes of CO2e, was carried out under a new three-year contract with Singapore CRRC Puhzen Railway Vehicle Services, a major equipment manufacturer based in China.
A-Gas’ technicians travelled to the company’s Sengkang depot in Singapore to carry out the initial recovery projects.
The trains have one system per cabin, each containing about 5kg of refrigerant. This required A-Gas’ technicians to move from carriage to carriage, carrying out multiple small recoveries.
So far, A-Gas has recovered a total of approximately 337kgs of R407C. The refrigerant has been transported to A-Gas’ facility to become certified reclaimed product for future use.
