UK extends Kigali agreement to the Isle of Man
27th February 2021UK: The UK has extended the provisions of the Kigali amendment to phase down HFC refrigerants to include the Isle of Man.
The 572km2 island in the Irish Sea is a self-governing British Crown Dependency. As such it is not part of the UK, nor is it part of the EU, but the UK government, on behalf of the Crown, is ultimately responsible for its international relations.
On Thursday (25 February), the UK government announced that the Kigali Amendment, that the UK ratified in 2017, would extend to the territory of the Isle of Man with immediate effect.
