Training firm is Beijer Ref top supplier

UK: This year’s Beijer Ref UK and Ireland Supplier of the Year has gone to a leadership training company.

In a break with the traditional equipment supplier, this year’s award, announced at the company’s annual Suppliers’ Dinner last night, went to Harrogate-based company Quarterdeck.

Quarterdeck, which counts ASDA and the Co-op among its clients, has been providing inspirational leadership training to staff across Beijer Ref’s UK and Ireland businesses.

So far, 25 Beijer Ref employees have benefitted from Quarterdeck’s leadership and communications training with its senior management scheduled to undertake the courses in the summer.

“My team is the biggest asset I have and investing in training is paramount to success,” Beijer Ref UK MD John Billson.

Laura Bouttell, managing director of Quarterdeck, added: “It’s been fantastic working with Beijer Ref. John is committed to developing his people and as a result has seen a great return on investment. It’s easy to put off training and see it as a cost but John rightly sees it as an investment and is delighted to see the results hitting the bottom line.”
