Tefcold acquires Capital Cooling assets

UK: Tefcold Group, the Danish-owned supplier of commercial cooling and freezing equipment, has acquired certain assets of Capital Cooling, which entered administration for the third time last month.

The deal for the assets of Beheren Ltd T/A Capital Cooling includes stock, trademarks, domain names, fixed assets, and goodwill. It also includes the transfer of 14 employees.

The acquisition was conducted by Hamsard 3655 Limited, a Tefcold subsidiary company formed last November with Tefcold owner and chairman Torben Christensen and Christopher Jordan as directors. Both are directors of Interlevin Refrigeration, the UK company acquired by Tefcold in 2018.

“We believe our strong operational model including quality control, logistics and supplier relationships will create significant value to the present customers of Capital Cooling and we are thrilled to develop the business further in the coming months,” commented Torben Christensen.

“Capital Cooling has a business that is complementary to the Tefcold business model and we are convinced that the acquisition will generate significant growth to the Tefcold Group and to existing suppliers of Capital Cooling,” he added.

Tefcold was formed in 1987 by Frede and Torben Christensen and has its HQ in Viborg, Denmark. Selling to over 100 countries, it boasts a turnover of more than €120m, 130 employees and warehouses in four countries.

Interlevin Refrigeration now trades as Tefcold (UK) and has its local head office in Castle Donington.

Capital Cooling entered administration at the end of February –  its third administration in a little over four years.
