Quidos offers Premium Supplier F-gas scheme
11th December 2024UK: Quidos has created a new voluntary scheme for companies to demonstrate that they are going above and beyond the minimum standards set out in the F-gas regulations.
The new Quidos Premium Supplier scheme mirrors the scheme that was introduced by Quidos’ recently appointed F-gas register director Graeme Fox while he was employed at rival certification company Refcom.
“When I created this scheme in my previous industry role it was widely lauded as a positive move for the industry sector,” Fox said.
He added that the award-winning initiative helped companies to demonstrate their intent to be professional in its sales of equipment containing refrigerants.
Quidos maintains that in-person audits of the supplier’s procedures and records have always been seen as the only valid means of demonstrating an understanding of the regulations, without which you cannot fully comply with the regulations.
“This new F-gas Premium Supplier scheme will fully audit suppliers ensuring they are properly training and checking their sales staff to make sure they only sell to appropriately qualified and certified business entities. If you do not audit properly then how can you be confident that your scheme does what it claims?,” Fox said.

Karl Richardson, director of distributor Logicool Air Conditioning, who was influential in the creation of the Refcom scheme, was the first to declare support for the Quidos alternative. Industry giant Wolseley Group, another long time supporter of Graeme Fox’s drive for competence and compliance is another early member.
