PWC announces 232 WR job losses
1st November 2013UK: The administrators of WR Refrigeration Ltd have today announced formal redundancies in respect of 232 employees.
Eddie Williams, joint administrator and director at PWC said: “Unfortunately, the level of interest and support for the remaining business means that we have no alternative than to begin the wind down of the Company.
“We have retained 119 employees to assist us and we will continue to explore options to support the transfer of people to other service providers. I would like to thank all the employees for their cooperation since our appointment and we will look to support them at this difficult time.”
On Tuesday 255 jobs were saved when the administrator sold a number of WR Refrigeration’s major contracts to FM company Integral.
In terms of numbers, hardest hit has been the company’s headquarters in Leicester where 76 employees have been made redundant. Other redundancies see 10 employees dismissed from its WR Products manufacturing plant in Swansea, 11 from its branch in Belfast, 18 in both Cardiff and Dartford, 21 redundancies in East Kilbride, 29 in Leeds, 30 in Spalding, 2 in Ipswich and 17 from Weston super Mare.
