Modine opens Bradford precision cooling factory
25th October 2024USA: Modine has officially opened its new 29,000m2 Airedale factory in Bradford dedicated to the production of precision cooling products for data centres.
The new site will specialise in the production and testing of computer room air handlers and fan walls, leaving Airedale’s existing Leeds facility to focus on chiller production.
The official opening marks the start of production two months ahead of schedule and boosts the company’s data centre cooling production capability in the UK by 150%.
Investment into the site, a former distribution centre, has included various structural changes to the existing buildings, installation of new manufacturing assembly and test equipment and the development of a state-of-the-art, 2MW test centre. Expansion plans for the site include the construction of a state-of-the-art fan wall test centre for R&D activities and factory acceptance tests.
“The opening of the Bradford site is another exciting milestone in Modine’s expansion strategy to serve global data center customers under the Airedale by Modine brand,” said Eric McGinnis, president, Climate Solutions.
“Demand for energy efficient data centre cooling products is strong, and this capacity expansion allows us to provide our customers with the technology and service needed to meet this unprecedented demand,” commented Eric McGinnis, president of Modine’s Climate Solutions business.
As part of its global expansion strategy, Modine is able to supply global customers with cooling equipment, systems, and technologies from facilities across Canada, Spain, the UK, and the USA.
