LEC commercial refrigeration to disappear

UK: Glen Dimplex Professional Appliances (GDPA) has announced that it is to phase out its LEC commercial refrigeration equipment brand.

A statement from the company says it has taken the decision in order to concentrate its sales and marketing within the hospitality and foodservice market, solely on Burco hot water boilers.

“This will result in a phased withdrawal of the LEC commercial refrigeration brand, in addition to all Burco Cooking products, from the sector over the coming months,” said GDPA managing director Mike Butt.

The announcement refers purely to the foodservice and hospitality sector. The LEC Medical and Glen Dimplex Home Appliances businesses are unaffected.

“We would like to assure all current customers of LEC commercial and Burco products that we will continue to meet and exceed all our statutory requirements to support and service LEC and Burco brands, as part of our on-going commitment,” Butt added.

Originally founded in 1940, LEC Refrigeration was acquired by Glen Dimplex from the Malaysian Sime Darby Group in 2005.
