Johnson Controls buys Fisher Group

UK: Johnson Controls continues its UK expansion with the acquisition of the Glasgow-based air conditioning contractor, Fisher Group.

The purchase, which includes Fisher Group Ltd and Fisher Group Services, follows the acquisition of Cool Solution in March and McDowall Air Conditioning last year.

Established in 1974, Fisher Group is a Daikin D1+ approved installer and a business solutions partner with Mitsubishi Electric.

Johnson Controls says the acquisition helps to fill a service gap in Scotland, and enables it to draw on Fisher Group’s expertise in the design and installation of air conditioning for commercial and industrial markets, while expanding its own pool of experts in the HVAC industry.

Describing the Fisher Group as one of the leading HVAC companies in Scotland, with “an enviable reputation and customer base”, Johnson Controls UK&I general manager for HVAC, Michael Anderton, said: “We are excited to be working with the talented team of HVAC professionals from Fisher Group and combining the strengths of both companies to better serve both existing and new customers.”

Fisher Group will form part of Johnson Control’s UK North Commercial HVAC Installation and Service business, reporting into Lee Tindall, Johnson Control’s National HVAC installations manager. According to a company statement, the Fisher Group name will be retained in the immediate future.

“This deal is an extremely important milestone and will achieve a key objective within Fisher Group and Johnson Controls’ strategy for growth,” explained James McLaughlin, managing director of the Fisher Group. We believe with Fisher Group and Johnson Controls joining forces, it creates a fantastic opportunity for us to continue to provide a high level of services to our valued clients and will enable us to further expand on client support and delivery by offering a broader range of services.
