Interim CEO replaces Higson at Wolseley UK

UK: Simon Oakland has been appointed as interim CEO of wholesaler Wolseley UK to replace Mark Higson, who will leave the company at the end of this month.

Higson was appointed Wolseley UK MD in March 2018. He is said to be stepping down to pursue an opportunity outside of the company. Ferguson has commenced a search for his permanent successor.

Simon Oakland, who has extensive experience in strategy, finance and operations, was appointed MD of Wolseley France building materials in 2012. He is currently CEO of Ferguson’s Canadian business and head of corporate development. Since September 2019, Oakland has also been project managing the Wolseley UK demerger process.

Preparation for the previously announced demerger of Wolseley UK is said to be well underway and the company still expects to complete the transaction this year.
