Ideal unveils net zero offices
24th July 2024UK: Ideal Heating has unveiled a net zero building, heated by one of the company’s own air-source heat pumps, at its headquarters site in Hull.
The new £2m, 3,700ft2 single-storey office building will be home to Ideal Heating’s logistics and administrative teams.
It is the first of Ideal Heating’s buildings to be net zero for carbon emissions, thanks, in part, to 92KW of clean electricity generated by rooftop solar panels.
It is also equipped with one of its own 18kW commercial Ecomod air-source heat pumps, accompanied by 10 Nanto water heaters from sister company Atlantic.
The new office building is part of a £60m investment programme at its Hull site, which includes new manufacturing, distribution and research and development facilities to support heat pumps and other renewable technologies.
“As the first net zero building opened at National Avenue, it reflects our commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint across all of our operations,” commented Ideal Heating engineering director Helen Villamuera.
