UK: The Heat Pump Association (HPA) has introduced a guidance list of recommended minimum annual service checks for air-, ground- and water-source heat pumps.
The checklists are designed as a resource for situations where manufacturer-specific guidance on service and maintenance checks is unavailable.
Whilst not intended to replace manufacturer guidelines, the HPA says its checklists will be a useful reference point for reviewing the effective operation and longevity of heat pumps. By outlining fundamental service practices, the HPA says it aims to enhance consistency and reliability across the sector.
Tony Lathey, chair of the HPA technical working group said: “These annual service checklists are the result of collaborative efforts from leading industry experts. They set a baseline for best practices, supporting installers in servicing and maintaining hydronic heat pumps effectively, in the absence of manufacturer-specific guidance.”
Access to the checklists are via the HPA’s technical resources page.
