Graeme Fox resigns as IoR president
21st September 2024UK: Graeme Fox has announced his resignation as president of the Institute of Refrigeration, citing “undemocratic” procedures, “double standards” and “disrespect” from certain trustees and CEO, Miriam Rodway.
Fox, who became president after a member’s vote in 2022, steps down in advance of the ending of his term in November.
In a LinkedIn post, Fox said: “It is with a heavy heart, therefore, that I have this morning resigned as IoR president and as a trustee. After more than 20 years loyal service to the industry and the Institute itself I find the level of disrespect from certain trustees and the CEO to be abominable and the double standards being applied to me personally by the CEO and Ttustees to be an affront.”
He claims to have been excluded from discussions regarding the business or direction of the IoR for some months and mentions constitutional changes being rushed through without proper discussion in time for voting at this year’s IoR AGM.
“The AGM itself has been moved to online only, with no consultation with me, further diminishing the members’ opportunity to raise concerns or discuss this constitutional change. I find this move undemocratic,” he says. “I cannot endorse it and will not allow it to go ahead in my name as IoR president.” He does not reveal what those proposed changes are.
