Fridge achieves Peak performance

UK: A fridge sponsored by wholesaler Beijer Ref is aiming to raise £5,000 after completing the 100km Peak District Ultra Challenge strapped to the back of charity fundraiser Daniel Fairbrother.

Fairbrother, from Stevenage, undertook the challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital in recognition of the treatment provided to his fiancée’s eight-year-old twin sons’ hereditary eye condition.

Having completed this year’s London Marathon carrying the fridge, which he affectionately calls Tallulah, Fairbrother decided to follow that with the equivalent of back-to-back marathons over the rugged terrain of Derbyshire’s Peak District.

The fridge was colourfully wrapped to promote Beijer Ref’s Quickfridge emergency cooling solution. Beijer Ref innovation and marketing director Howard Noble commented: “When we saw what Daniel was attempting, we just had to get involved. It’s a magnificent effort for a wonderful cause and we are delighted to have helped him on his way.”

To help Daniel Fairbrother reach his target, donations can still be made at his JustGiving page.
