Former TF employee jailed for arson attack

UK: A former employee of air conditioning and refrigeration distributor TF Solutions has been jailed for 20 months after an arson attack on the company’s Leeds branch.

Dean Barber, 46, was employed at the Gelderd Road premises between December 2018 and July 2019.

Barber was said to have believed that his former employers had not investigated a complaint he had made while working there. He continued to email the company after his departure, threatening to burn the building down. According to reports by Leeds Live, these were not taken seriously.

However, Barber was caught on CCTV cameras on January 11 this year throwing petrol bombs over the fence at a van on the premises, causing around £600 worth of damage.

He pleaded guilty to arson and was convicted at Leeds Crown Court.

TF Solutions’ Leeds branch – a 1,500m² facility on the City Park Industrial Estate – was opened in 2018.
