Epta invests for the future

UK: The UK operations of leading commercial refrigeration company Epta are to change their names under the Epta UK banner.

From June 12, its UK manufacturing operation George Barker & Co (Leeds) Ltd will change its name to Epta George Barker Ltd. At the same time, its contracting business Cold Service will become Epta Cold Service Ltd.

George Barker was acquired by EPTA in 1999 and is renowned in the UK for its wide knowledge and experience applied to the design and production of custom-made refrigerated units.

Hampshire-based Cold Service was acquired in 2014 and specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of turnkey refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

In a statement the company said: “We will continue and enhance working together under the Epta UK banner, retaining the Bradford and Ringwood operations to ensure that all our customers benefit from the full range of products and services we have available.

“Since the 2014 acquisition of Cold Service Ltd, we have focussed on improved efficiency, and coverage across the UK through joint operations, and to bring all customers our enhanced range of piped and integral cabinets, natural refrigerant pack systems backed by our UK based training centre, design and project management service that offers full turnkey packages, and comprehensive after-sales support.”

Epta says it continues to invest in the UK. During the last year its R&D capabilities have been increased following the addition of a further test room suite to its existing facilities. In addition, a £2m manufacturing investment to improve production capacity, efficiency and availability, whilst improving accuracy of manufactured parts, is just being completed at its Bradford factory.

The company also continues to invest in its apprenticeship programme.
