Drew Bowie (left) accepts his award from Kooltech’s Kevin McMahon and IoR Scotland chair Danny Watson

UK: Drew Bowie, recently retired after a career spanning 57 years, is this year’s winner of the Kooltech Award for outstanding contribution to the Scottish refrigeration industry.

Bowie received his award from Kooltech commercial director Kevin McMahon at last week’s 44th IOR Scotland Annual Dinner in Glasgow. Starting out with James Kilpatrick, Bowie’s career included 37 years with Turners, which later became Hussmann Refrigeration. He recently retired from Technical Retail Services.

The awards, in front of another large audience of over 500 guests at the Double Tree by Hilton, saw Ryan Smith of AE Refrigeration being named IoR Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year. Blaine Feeney of KB Refrigeration was runner up.
