Copeland Cookstown expansion nears completion
14th May 2024UK: Copeland is nearing the completion of a £19m investment in its compressor manufacturing facility in Cookstown, Northern Ireland.
This new investment will increase production capacity to meet European heat pump demand. The expansion is said to be well underway, with final touches anticipated to be completed by September, solidifying Copeland’s capacity to serve customers more effectively.
The investment includes a 3,500m2 building expansion including new production lines which will significantly increase both overall plant production, and the flexibility to meet future demand.
“This new investment in Cookstown will allow us to best serve Europe’s anticipated demand for heat pumps and sustainable air conditioning technologies, which are crucial for supporting the UK and European Union’s decarbonisation goals,” said Copeland CEO Ross B Shuster.
The Cookstown facility has continued to grow since first opening in 1997. Since its establishment it has produced more than five million compressors and has taken the lead in developing numerous innovations, including Copeland’s first transcritical CO2, low-sound and hydrocarbon R290 compressors.
