BUS applications down 5% in August

UK: The number of applications to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) in August was double the volume received in the same month last year but was 5% down on July.

The 2,890 applications across all technology types is the fourth highest month for applications since the scheme began.

The scheme, which is available in England and Wales, provides £7,500 in financial support for families to switch from fossil fuel heating systems to a heat pump.

Since May 2022 there have been 51,872 BUS voucher applications received. The majority of these were for grants towards air-source heat pump installations installations (97%).
