Brian Streatfield 1936-2024

UK: Brian Streatfield, a man who was instrumental in the formation of Carrier in the UK during the 1970s, died at the weekend. He was 87.

A pioneer of UK air conditioning, Streatfield was MD of Weathermaker, one part of a triad of Carrier (then known as Carlyle) distributors during the 1970s – the others being DES, headed by Trevor Gosling, and Walker Air Conditioning in Ireland led by Jimmy Anderson.

In 1984, Brian Streatfield became CEO of Carrier UK when Carrier acquired Weathermaker and DES.

He held that position for ten years before becoming manager of northern Europe prior to his retirement in 1997.
