Beijer Ref offers high speed refrigerant recovery

UK: Beijer Ref Refrigerants UK has announced a new refrigerant recovery service focused on simplifying the recovery process from larger systems.

Refrec Reclaim is aimed at reducing contractors’ time on site, saving them money by increasing the speed at which refrigerants are recovered, while handling the administration process.

Typically targeted at systems with 100kg charge and above, Refrec technicians will use high speed recovery machines capable of recovering refrigerant 10 times faster than conventional methods.

Refrec Reclaim will also manage the logistics of the recovery cylinders required and administration requirements to ensure compliance with current legislation.

Using vehicles specifically modified for the purpose of transporting specialist equipment to recover refrigerant fast, the refrigerant is recovered through hoses of up to 120m in length.

With it fast becoming common to replace high GWP refrigerants with low GWP alternatives, the company can also recharge the system with the chosen alternative.

“With the phase-out of F-gases, we now have a demand to recover high GWP refrigerants with lower alternatives or natural refrigerants,” said Beijer Ref UK head of product development Alec Stilling.

“Refrigerants are being recovered to allow maintenance on systems, dismantling of current installations and retrofits. The process to recover refrigerant in the past has been time-consuming and labour intensive for our trade customers.”
