Carrier Germany increases heat pump training

GERMANY: Carrier Germany is offering new hydraulics training courses  at its training centre on the IKKE campus in Duisburg to support the growing demand for heat pump expertise.

IKKE is the Information Centre for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Energy Technology is the training and further education arm of the North Rhine Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology Guild (KIN).

Carrier opened its training centre in IKKE in Duisburg over ten years ago and has expanded it to include VRF technology and heat pumps. At the centre, training participants acquire or refresh their theoretical knowledge, and also put it into practice on operational appliances.

Many courses are reserved for Carrier employees and specialist partners. However, IKKE also uses the training centre in cooperation with Carrier and Cooltool for general hydraulics courses.

The next general hydraulics training courses will take place on 7/8 March and 25/26 April. Register via IKKE or [email protected].

“IKKE’s product-independent hydraulics courses, which are open to everyone, are a good opportunity for further training,” said Wilfried Buschmann, training manager, Carrier Germany Training Centre. “At the training centre, we see the appliance in its integration into the overall system.”

The courses for Carrier employees, specialist partners and major customers focus more on the special features of Carrier products, including in connection with control technology. In addition to the hydraulics courses, offerings include basic and advanced courses for specialist partners and special training courses for key account employees.

The qualification of specialist partners is an important focus for the company. “For example, our specialist partners now carry out the commissioning of Carrier liquid chillers and heat pumps themselves, which was previously reserved for our employees, as was the case with the large chillers,” said Ralph Neunzig, product support and training, Carrier Germany.

Since the training centre opened in 2012, over 1,505 participants have completed 120 courses. The training centre at IKKE is the largest of its kind at Carrier in Europe.
