Business Edge offers flammables training

UK: Hampshire-based training provider Business Edge is now offering flammable refrigerant courses aimed at increasing awareness and improving competency in the safe use of hydrocarbon refrigerants in split systems.

The courses, created in partnership with Centro Studi Galileo of Italy, German training company IKKE and Scotland’s Renewable Heat Institute, anticipate changes to the F-Gas regulation, which are expected to ban refrigerants above 150 GWP in split systems up to 12kW from 2024. At present, flammable propane (R290) is the only available refrigerant meeting this requirement.

The training programme, which will follow the ACRIB Flammables Training and Assessment Course, will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to install and service split systems using hydrocarbon refrigerants in a safe and efficient manner.

This will include instruction on the interconnection of external and internal units, pipe jointing, evacuation, charging and recovery of refrigerant, leak testing, commissioning, and safe repair techniques.

Business Edge currently has its Flammable Refrigerant Course scheduled for 20 February and 17 July. The courses are for one day and cost £340.00 plus VAT.
